If you like following someone but they boost too much stuff, you can mute just their boosts without hiding their ordinary posts:

1. Log into Mastodon
2. Go to profile of the person whose boosts you want to hide
3. Click on ︙or ⋯ at the top and select "Hide boosts from…" (or "Hide reblogs" on some apps)

If you change your mind, go back to their profile and select "Show boosts from…" (or "Show reblogs").

There's lots more info about muting and blocking on Mastodon at fedi.tips/blocking-and-muting-…

Is there a way to see whose boosts you did hide? Or should you remember all individual profiles yourself?

@antoinek

Unfortunately boost-hiding is not included on the list of mutes and blocks, so you would have to remember which accounts you have hidden boosts from.

Question: I boost a lot in hopes that my followers will see but also in hopes that it will help boost it into the Explore list. If someone mutes me, does that affect anything else?
in reply to Matt Ferrel

It shouldn't affect whether your boost "counts" for helping people on the Explore list. As far as I know it just counts the number of recent boosts on recent posts, whether they're muted or not.

@caity "Boosts too much stuff". Sorry, I don’t understand that phrase.

@timrichards @caity

It means sharing too many posts from other people. (Boosting on here is the equivalent term for re-tweeting.)
