💗 Schengen

“Have you ever wanted to fly across a border more than 40 times in one minute? No? As of last month, you can do it anyway: By hopping on a swing in the towns of Baarle-Hertog-Nassau, you can fly from the Netherlands into Belgium and back.”

they have this on the Estonia-Latvia border too, it may have inspired it, as it's been around quite a bit longer!

Schengen is great. I crossed the Swiss–French border almost every day for 4 years. Not sure how many times I got stopped on the public border (we also had a private border crossing with a gate) but it was maybe once or twice a year.

My office was in Switzerland, but I usually ate lunch in our cafeteria just up the road in France. 😁

This sort of thing always amazes me because where I grew up the border between our country and our closest neighbour is roughly 1,000 kilometres across and very wet.

Sometimes in mid 1980s as teenager I was sking in Lapland. We made a trip to where borders of Finland, Sweden and Norway meet. I decided to make quick Nordics tour and clocked 12 seconds to go around the border marker with skis.
It was very different as the place where I had spent most of my summers was close to the border with Soviet Union. Heavily guarded hostile border then and now.
