Tämä tuli jo reilu viikko sitten, mutta pistetäänpä nyt kuitenkin.

Koulun kuulokkeet on palautettu, joten oli aika hankkia omat.
Tavoitteena on, että pysyvät käytössä ensin kymmenen vuotta, sitten toiset kymmenen vuotta ja sitten vielä venytetty vuosikymmen.

Toiveet on korkealla, ja sen toteutumiseen on vain yksi kynnys: varaosia pidetään myynnissä niin kauan.

Pahvilaatikossa FairPhonen Fairbuds XL -vastamelukuulokkeet ja USB-C 2.0 -kaapeli. Molempia mainostetaan pitkäikäisinä, ja väitteelle on hyvät takeet: Kuulokkeet koostuu irroitettavista osista, joiden tilalle saa rikkoutuessa ostettua uuden. Kaapeli käy kaikkiin laitteisiin, joissa on USB-C-portti, ja lisäksi ne kestävät taivuttelua.

If they are compatible, that's amazing ✨.
The products should be future proof also in the sense that when an upgrade comes, it can be added to the older models. FairPhone has succeeded in that in the past with their modular cameras, am I right?

On their 📱phones, this is much more difficult (at least between FP generations) for the simple reason that you are dealing with a hard "house"/casing that does not allow growing the space for new different parts (not to mention moving things around inside). On the 🎧 Fairbuds XL, you naturally haven't got such a hard "ceiling". – Having said that, there were camera upgrades for the FP2 and FP3 (but just within the same device, not cross-"generational"). However, Fairphone did not do this for following FP generations, because – and I agrew with them here – there is usually more to gain from better software than from throwing in new hardware (e.g. the major camera APP update in the FP4 last year). I for my part can confirm that on my own FP3 (running a GCam port instead of the default camera app). /u

I just meant to say that the quality of photos I make with my FP3 owes visibly more to the switch to the other camera app than to replacing the FP3 camera module by the FP3+ camera module. /u
