does impedance make sense for wireless earbuds?

!Headphones

i was doing some research on some no-name earbuds i own and it turns out they are made by some moldull company,
and in their product pages
like this one
they list "Impedance ohm value: 32Ω" in the specs, but why does it matter if you aren't plugging them in your own amplifier?

Headphones reshared this.

Well, it matters to the manufacturer I suppose, since they have to pair it with a tiny little headphone amp that can drive them properly.

But to the end user... i think you are right. Its not like we can swap out the amp...

🤷 Perhaps because many “audiophiles” would reject the earbuds out of hand if they didn’t publish their impedance, even though it’s irrelevant in this case. There are many audiophiles with more disposable income than sense.

Dasus doesn't like this.
