Canada & Mexico
Broad-based 25% tariffs were imposed starting March 4, 2025—but thanks to USMCA exemptions, over 85% of cross-border trade remains unaffected.
Canada suspended most retaliatory tariffs after receiving exemptions, though around 70% of its own tariffs on U.S. goods remain active per Canadian officials.
U.S. steel and aluminum tariffs were doubled to 50% by June; Canada countered with plans for additional retaliatory measures if talks falter.
Courts are challenging the administration's emergency-authority-based tariffs.
China
Trump raised tariffs incrementally—from 10% in February/March to a sweeping 34% “reciprocal tariff” in April.
China responded with equal tariffs (34%) on U.S. imports plus bans and export restrictions on rare-earth elements.

Ein Verwandter ist jahrelang Spezialtransporte gefahren. Er hat Boote quer durch Europa transportiert. Da muss man sein Gefährt auch sehr gut kennen.
Später ist er "normale" LKW gefahren, weil er irgendwann nicht mehr ständig rumfahren wollte. Er hat sich dann gerne über seine Kollegen amüsiert, die Probleme hatten, die Fahrzeuge z.B. zentimetergenau rückwärts einzuparken - was er für seinen alten Job natürlich benötigte.

Ja, es gibt solche und solche Fahrer. Manche wenden notfalls das Gespann auf einer Briefmarke, andere fahren nochmal um die Stadt herum, damit sie nicht rangieren müssen.
Die Solos fahre ich notfalls auch komplett anders herum. Gelenke rückwärts muss man mögen. Ich kann, mag aber nicht und versuch es zu vermeiden.
Doppelgelenk rückwärts ist garantiert spaßig 😀
Bus fahren wäre nichts für mich, ich fahre schon ungerne Kleintransporter. Und ich finde es spannend, dass ich mit meinem Führerschein (den ich Ende der 80er gemacht habe) auch die 7,5 Tonner fahren dürfte - was ich mit Sicherheit nie machen werde.
Und ich habe eben auf adac.de/verkehr/rund-um-den-fu… gesehen, dass ich sogar Busse fahren dürfte (nur ohne Fahrgäste), wenn sie nicht mehr als 7,5 Tonnen wiegen. Nein danke 😀

If it wasn't for those three religions that all try to claim the same little piece of land around the Jordan river as their Holy Land, nobody wouldn't even notice what's going on there. And horrible things have happened there for a very long time, it is a river oasis in a desert region, all the empires that ever existed in that region wanted that land, and it was conquered and colonised again and again and again, for thousands of years. The entire Middle East situation has been a perennial clusterfuck for ages. If it was somewhere in Sub-Saharan Africa or East Asia, the Western world wouldn't even give a shit, and neither would any Arabs.
The Israeli government under Netanyahu is a bunch of gangsters and fascists and religious nutters. Hamas is a bunch of gangsters and fascists and religious nutters. The Iranian regime isn't much different, either. If only the murderers were murdering each other, but instead, they usually pick the most innocent victims they can find. Hamas killed and kidnapped a lot of harmless peaceniks at a festival, and in return, the Netanyahu regime let loose its hounds on Gaza to kill many more harmless people. While this is happening, atrocities of similar magnitude are happening elsewhere, and the world doesn't even notice.

As for Palestine-Israel conflict, though, you're clearly missing critical points. It's basically only a century old, & its roots are in western imperialism, especially British & American. Who would've guessed?

After my grandparents' generation tried to murder all the Jews and managed to kill six million of them, many survivors just wouldn't stay anywhere in Europe anymore, so Zionism became their beacon of hope, and that led to the founding of Israel.
You can't really separate what is happening now from what happened in the past. It all boils down to ancient religious conflicts that turn violent again and again and again, and to the fact that no empire could ever leave the Jordan valley alone since it is such an important oasis in the desert. As long as that river runs and as long as any people believe in that old desert god, there will never be lasting peace. In fact, forget about the old alpha male in the sky, the violence began long before there even were any Hebrews. The oldest real wars between real states with real armies (as opposed to tribal warriors) happened around ancient cities like Jericho, you can still find armouries filled with stone age weapons there. The so-called Holy Land is where organised warfare was invented many thousands of years ago, and it hasn't seen any lasting peace ever since. However, we can expect it all to end within less than a hundred years because the climate catastrophe will turn the Jordan river into a dusty valley, and the whole land will become too hot to sustain human life. Nobody will be living there for the next few tens of thousands of years.

It was taken up by some Jewish intellectuals as a way of using imperialist Britain et al - antisemitic as they were - as a means to securing a homeland.
