Όποιος έχει συνηθίσει να κάνει ερωτήσεις, είναι κακός, καταπιεσμένος και επομένως δεν κάνει για επιστάτης. Πώς μπορεί κάποιος που στοχάζεται γύρω από τη νομιμότητα των κατεστημένων κανόνων, να χτυπάει, να μαχαιρώνει ή να πυροβολεί εργάτες, όπως απαιτούν οι νόμοι έκτακτης ανάγκης σ’ ορισμένες περιπτώσεις; Η σημερινή εκπαίδευση που γίνεται στην αστυνομία και στον στρατό είναι μια επανάληψη της διαδικασίας μετατροπής των δούλων, σε φύλακες που προδίδουν τους συντρόφους τους.
Στα ναζιστικά στρατόπεδα συγκέντρωσης, μερικοί από τους πιο έμπιστους επόπτες ήταν κρατούμενοι. Ο εκδημοκρατισμός του στρατού δεν ελαττώνει τη δύναμη κρούσης του προς τα έξω σε περίπτωση αμυντικού πολέμου, αλλά την ελαττώνει σε περίπτωση επιθετικού πολέμου, ο εκδημοκρατισμός ελαττώνει, πάνω απ’ όλα, τη δύναμη κρούσης προς τα μέσα. Δεν υπάρχει ούτε μια γνωστή ανθρώπινη κοινωνία του παρελθόντος, στην οποία το κράτος να μην ήταν ένας μηχανισμός καταπίεσης της πλειοψηφίας από μια μειοψηφία. Έτσι ήταν στη δουλοκτητική κοινωνία της Αθήνας και της Ρώμης, έτσι ήταν σ’ όλες τις φεουδαλικές κοινωνίες.
Όταν οι δουλοπάροικοι χωρικοί επαναστάτησαν, ο ιδεολόγος των τότε αφεντάδων, Μαρτίνος Λούθηρος, έγραψε: «Όποιος μπορεί, πρέπει να τους συντρίψει, να τους στραγγαλίσει και να τους μαχαιρώσει, κρυφά και φανερά, όπως σκοτώνει κανείς ένα λυσσασμένο σκυλί!». Κι αυτό ακριβώς έκαναν οι ευσεβείς πρίγκιπες με τη βοήθεια του νόμου και της τάξης, των δικαστών, των δημίων, της αστυνομίας και των στρατιωτών. Ακόμα και σήμερα οι Εκκλησίες λένε ότι κάθε εξουσία πηγάζει από τον Θεό. Σωστότερο θα ήταν να πούμε ότι κάθε Θεός πηγάζει από την εξουσία
