古河鉱業が最近作ったいわゆる「企業側」の記念館のつまらなさ、語らない部分の多さがとんでもなかった。
「きらりうむ佐渡」と似たような感じです。
日本全国（というかおそらく世界各地）の衰退自治体が町おこしのためにユネスコを誘致しているという実情があるのがなんとなく読み取れたし、ハコモノの展示内容や展示スタイルが似通い過ぎているような感じがした。

もともと幕府直轄時代からの鉱業があったとはいえ、近代資本主義式の乱開発でその地域の産業が鉱業一辺倒になった結果人口は増えても産業は育たず、公害まみれになって廃坑になった後は衰退するのみという流れはグローバルサウスの資源開発に対して「協力」だと強弁して資源を収奪するだけして格差は是正しない先進諸国が作り出しがちな「鉱山資源の呪い」と同じ問題じゃないのという感じがすごくしましたね。
各地の炭鉱、銀山、銀山、銅山がこぞって世界遺産登録を狙っている流れがありますが、日本のメンツとか歴史認識が絡んでくる問題だしここをクリアしなければ観光資源としても結局クオリティの高いものなんて作り出せないんだろうけど、ニーズとしてはこの「呪い」の帰結として産業が枯渇して人口減、税収減に喘いでいるような地方の要請なんだろうなと思います。
再スタートしたいなら真面目に過去と向き合わなきゃダメです。
