Last year, we heard from moderators on Mastodon, Nostr, Bluesky, Matrix, even Discord and Reddit, and beyond. Every platform has its own challenges, but many needs – like better tooling, clearer guidance, and stronger support networks are universal.
Over the past year we’ve worked with moderation tooling projects like Bonfire’s Federated Moderation Toolkit, the ActivityPub Trust & Safety Taskforce, ROOST, and other projects looking to extend moderation beyond a single platform and offer real world tooling that can help moderators and community managers share the load and manage multiple platforms.
This year, we want an even broader picture.
Whether you moderate a niche forum, a public Mastodon server, a Discord channel, or a Bluesky instance, your input belongs in the Needs Assessment.

"The most recent talk of a looming winter has been triggered by growing concerns among investors that AI technology may not live up to the hype surrounding it—and that the valuations of many AI-related companies are far too highl. In a worst case scenario, this AI winter could be accompanied by the popping of an AI-inflated stock market bubble, with reverberations across the entire economy. While there have been AI hype cycles before, they’ve never involved anything close to the multiple hundreds of billions of dollars that investors have sunk into the generative AI boom. And so if there is another AI winter, it could involve polar vortex levels of pain.
The markets have been spooked recently by comments from OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, who told reporters he thought some venture-backed AI startups were grossly overvalued (although not OpenAI, of course, which is one of the most highly-valued venture-backed startups of all time). Erst *durch* den russischen Angriff 2014 sucht die Ukraine den Schutz der NATO und bereits wegen des Grenzkonflikts seitdem war ein NATO-Beitritt auch 2022 gar nicht möglich. Außerdem hat Rußland dieses "Argument" selbst schon dadurch widerlegt, daß es keinen Krieg gegen Finnland führte.
Putin will ja auch keine #Frieden mit der #Ukraine. Wenn dem so wäre, hätte er den Krieg dort weder begonnen noch bis heute fortgeführt. Interessant ist hier allenfalls, dass Putin nun unverhohlen allen Staaten droht, die versuchen einen Beitrag zur dauerhaften Sicherung eines möglichen Kriegsendes zu leisten. Deutlicher kann er kaum werden. Er will den Krieg in der Ukraine unbedingt fortsetzen. Er möchte keinen Frieden.
Also, ich verstehe die Aufregung nicht. 1. sind wir noch sehr weit von einem Waffenstillstand, geschweige denn einem Frieden entfernt. 2. nicht alle Staaten sind auch bereit Soldaten zu schicken und 3. war die Antwort von #Putin ganz bestimmt voraussehbar. Business as usual.
