#Google was recently fined ~3 billion € by the 🇪🇺#EU for anticompetitive practices. Good. So long as corporations like Google get to control our devices, we're never going to achieve true freedom and liberty.
Now, it's up to the EU to push access of their #EUDI wallet app to 3rd party operating systems devoid of Google or Apple tech, like #GrapheneOS, /e/os, or LineageOS. The current iteration does not ban the use of Play Integrity, and in some countries, like #Italy, the wallet app will prevent EU citizens from exercising their rights unless they accept the Terms of Service of a megacorp.
It is time for the EU to decide who to support: The worker, or the shareholder?

End of the Republic uses the words of Abraham Lincoln to produce a dystopian view of the state of the republic.
The music was made using a Soma Enner, a granular synth and two tape decks running at different speeds. It was recorded live with the words dubbed afterwards.

Had Vivaldi been built on a competing open source browser engine than Chromium, I might have gone that way already. We need more sustainable browser engines than just Chrome/Chromium, especially now with the direction Mozilla is taking Firefox. And Chrome/Chromium deserves a solid competition to avoid crashing into the IE browser mess 20+ years ago.
So for now, I hope Librewolf can fill the gap, at least in the short-/midterms perspective.

On 9 September, the arms industry will gather in the UK for the Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) arms fair. DSEI generates controversy and protest every year; this year that controversy is focussed on links to Israel and its genocide of the Palestinian people. While the UK government has barred an official delegation from Israel, Israeli weapons companies will still attend. Now, Campaign Against Arms Trade (CAAT) has argued this exception represents “peak complicity in genocide”, with 51 Israeli companies set to attend the event.
Contentious attendance at DSEI
CAAT note that the 51 Israeli companies set to attend the event include “Elbit Systems, Rafael and Israel Aerospace”. These companies are based in Israel, but they also maintain UK sites in some instances, particularly Elbit Systems. Before our current Labour government proscribed it as a terrorist organisation, Palestine Action conducted a protracted campaign of direct action against Elbit Systems, and several companies cut ties with the arms manufacturer during this period (including a landlord of one of its UK sites). Some speculated that Palestine Action may also have influenced the Ministry of Defence (MoD) overlooking Elbit for a £2.1bn contract.

I say "cat-sized" because due to the size I can only imagine that's the original purpose of the tent... to house a cat temporarily outdoors
