Former MMA champion Conor McGregor has urged his online supporters to pressure local councillors into nominating him as a candidate for the Irish presidency.

In a video filmed outside Government Buildings in Dublin, McGregor attacked the government over homelessness, migration, and security.
“We have seen the homelessness of Irish children rise to levels unprecedented, proving this government’s refusal to abide by and respect our proclamation where all children of Irish are to be cherished. Instead, our children abandoned,” he said.
He also claimed tourism had declined and “danger on our streets has risen” as a result of mass immigration.

Describing himself as a “master of martial combat” and a “solution-driven man,” McGregor called on his followers to contact councillors.
“If you want to see my name on the ballot for the presidency, I urge you to contact your local county councillors today and ask them to nominate me,” he said.
“Our councillors are the backbone of our communities. They work harder and deliver more for the people than those in the Oireachtas, who continue to fail this country time and again.”
He told supporters he wanted to be “a president face to face with government officials with only one priority — to ensure that the country our founding fathers gave their lives for is strictly adhered to on behalf of its citizens.”
He tied his message to Ireland’s republican tradition, invoking the 1916 Proclamation.
“Ireland, under my tenure, the will of the people will be heard. Ireland under my tenure, we will return important articles of our constitution prior, and thus again aligning with Padraig Pearse’s proclamation,” he said, referring to the revolutionary who was one of the leaders of the Easter Rising.
To run, a candidate must secure the backing of either four of the State’s 31 local authorities or 20 members of the Irish bicameral parliament.
McGregor’s plea suggests he is not confident about securing the latter, and is thus seeking the people to lobby their local councillors to get him on the ballot.
The Irish presidential election is scheduled to be held on Oct. 24.

The information on Wikipedia is mostly accurate that I can tell, but the important is what's overrepresented or missing because of shifting "notability" and "source reliability" goals enforced by an exclusive caste of administrators.

ICE sets new deportation plan for Kilmar Abrego Garcia after he blocked 22 countries with fear claims
President Donald Trump's Immigration and Customs Enforcement has been engaged in an ongoing legal battle to remove Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an illegal alien from El Salvador, from the United States.
'That claim of fear is hard to take seriously, especially given that you have claimed (through your attorneys) that you fear persecution or torture in at least 22 different countries.'
A letter obtained by Fox News revealed that ICE has plans to deport Abrego Garcia to Eswatini, a small country in Southern Africa.
Last month, a federal judge blocked ICE from deporting Abrego Garcia to Uganda.
"As you know, the United States seeks to remove you from the United States based on your final order of removal," ICE wrote in a letter to Abrego Garcia on Friday. "Currently, you are designated to be removed to Uganda. Your attorney has informed us, however, that you fear persecution or torture in Uganda."
The letter went on to list nearly two dozen countries — including El Salvador, Mexico, Belize, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Honduras — where Abrego Garcia expressed similar fears.

Abrego Garcia was previously deported in March to El Salvador's CECOT prison, but returned to the U.S. in June to face human trafficking charges. He pleaded not guilty.
The federal government has accused Abrego Garcia of engaging in "extensive criminal activities since he has been in the United States," including being an MS-13 gang member, which he denies.

Abrego Garcia is currently being held in a detention center in Farmville, Virginia, while he awaits deportation following a judge's 2019 order of removal.
"This man is a suspected terrorist known to affiliate and be friends with MS-13 members. He's an extremely dangerous individual," Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem told Newsmax. "A known wife-beater. This is someone that should never be free in the United States of America, and bringing him to justice is incredibly important to the safety of the American people."

Klein and Thompson do not seem to realize that their proposals would also entail large-scale redistribution and that the ills they seek to cure are the result of inequality rather than regulation, because they do not seem to understand how prices and property work in capitalism. Translating higher profits to shorter workweeks would require a scale of redistribution that far outstrips anything Bernie Sanders has proposed. Claiming that profits will be shared because they are based on “the collective knowledge of humanity” opens up a wider set of imperatives than they realize. Most profit, labor, and technology is in some way built on the collective knowledge of humanity, in the sense that education, work, and knowledge are shared, social, and cumulative, and all workers are the result of collective social reproduction."
