Sehe ich genauso. Um die Leute von YT abzuholen muss man ihnen in ihrem Wohnzimmer zeigen wie der Umzug oft sehr leicht funktioniert. Gerade Peertube bietet Möglichkeiten seine Follow-Listen zu importieren. Und eines muss den Leuten immer wieder klar gemacht werden: hier im Fediverse gibt es keine automatische Reichweite durch Algorithmen.

@franky @zeroase Fu magst das ja vielleicht auf Youtube stellen, in der Hoffnung, dass das zwischen Schiffsunglücken und Flugzeugabstürzen vielleicht mal angezeigt wird. Aber Du musst das doch nicht verlinken, wenn Du das auf 'ner Peertube hast. Dann ist es VÖLLIG sinnfrei, auf das yt-Video hinzuweisen.

Hier im Fediverse auf YT verlinken ist sinnfrei. Nein sogar kontraproduktiv.
Jeder Aufruf der Timeline, der das Vorschaubild lädt, verschafft Google Daten...

Im Fediverse reicht der Peertubelink vollkommen aus.
Wenn User hier das an Freunde weitergeben, sollen diese gleich auf Peertube schauen.

Das Video auf YT ist wirklich nur für jede Leute sinnvoll, die dort zufällig darüberstolpern...

Gib Google keine Chance Daten zu sammeln!

@padeluun ⁂ Doch, noch ist der Hinweis wichtig. Viele sind noch auf YT zu Hause und müssen also dort mit dem Umzugslaster auf dem groß #Peertube draufsteht abgeholt werden. Sonst ist das Trommeln für mehr User mit viel Content hier im #Fediverse sinnlos. Der HT #unis4mastodon hatte nur Erfolg weil man es auf X gemacht hat, wo die alle zu Hause waren. Sehr viele Universitäten sind heute auf Mastodon mit eigenen Servern vernetzt, andere schwirren im Fediverse herum, eine Handvoll auf Bsky mit #bsky.brid.gy zum Rest der Welt. Wenn das mit YT-Usern und dem Video genauso funktioniert, warum dann nicht? Wenn die ersten auf Peertube reinschauen, muss dort ein Video zu finden sein das erklärt was die Vorteile sind und wie das ganze funktioniert. Das Video von @Lioh ist dafür schon ganz gut. Darum sind beide Links notwendig.

@franky @zeroase Sorry, das ist völliger Quatsch. Es sind zwei Links, die das selbe versprechen: Ein Video anzeigen. Es würde ein Link reichen, damit das Video angezeigt wird. Welche Plattform das abspielt ist für die Absicht, sich ein Video anzusehen, völlig gleichgültig. Also kann man sich den Link zur Datenkrake wirklich sparen. Er gibt der Message keinerlei Mehrwert - weder für den Produzenten noch für die Rezipienten. Die einzigen, die profitieren sind: Google.

@padeluun für Produzierende bedeutet YT = Geld und PT = Kosten. Bei Peertube fehlt wie bei Open Source im allgemeinen ein gutes Finanzierungsmodell. Das is für Creators bisher der grösste Knackpunkt.

Ich bin in riner Zeit groß geworden, da hat man Zeugs erstellt und freute sich, dass andere sich das im Internet ansehen.
Und man freute sich, dass andere ihr Zeugs azch so veröffentlichten.

Achso. Du bekommst Geld von YT? Dann verstehe ich, warum Du auch den YT-Link dazu gepackt hast. Dann musst Du Dir natürlich erst ein passendes Finanzierungsmodell für fie Peertube ausdenken. Viel Erfolg dabei!

Eine Möglichkeit wäre die Videos nach dem Erreichen eines Spendenziels zu befreien und auf Peertube zu stellen. Damit bin ich aber auch noch nicht ganz grün.

Das find ich sogar witzig.

@franky das ist lieb, das du es für mich erklären willst. Was du schreibst deckt sich allerdings nicht mit meiner Haltung. Ich produziere Inhalte, damit sich Menschen selbst adäquat eine Meinung bilden können. Dabei bin ich nicht missionierend und ich lehne jede Form von Separatismus grundsätzlich ab. Wenn eine Person sich nach dem Anschauen entscheidet, weiterhin YT zu nutzen, ist das für mich völlig Ok.

Nein, es soll auch nicht missionieren. Eher Neugierde wecken und wenn sich nur eine Handvoll Leute entscheidet ihnen Content auf Peertube anzubieten ist das schon ein Erfolg. Niemand soll zu irgendetwas gezwungen werden. Das war auch nicht der Vorsatz bei #unis4mastodon . Im Gegenteil, die Initiatoren waren vom Erfolg eher überrascht. Niemand hätte gemeckert wenn Universitäten weiterhin auf X oder FB geblieben wären. Es ist auch nicht Sinn und Zweck des Fediverse im allgemeinen irgendwen zu missionieren oder hierher zu zwingen. Es wäre dem Fediverse eher abkömmlich das zu tun. Neugierde ist das beste Werkzeug.

What with my Fairphone 4 just receiving it's last #CalyxOS update for a while and when they do start again it has to be a full reinstall, So I'm wondering has any UK folk successfully got UK banking apps running in #Waydroid using a #PostMarketOS device ?? If so which apps work ??

I'm absolutely not bothered about phone calls just data and I'm considering a Fairphone 5 as most things apart from audio seem to work already. I do have a OnePlus 6T too but haven't used it for a year or two.

I listen to a lot of audio from the phone to headset or car bluetooth. I assume Android Auto does not work via /e/os but I can live without that. I don't think I am using anything else that required any Google service.

I wouldn't know about Android Auto, not particularly interested in that myself. But I do listen to audio via headset and in the car with bluetooth a lot too. Works fine, in as far bluetooth ever works fine ;) I mean, I always have trouble with bluetooth connecting, whether it is my phone, laptop or any other device (including a windows laptop, especially on the windows laptop).

una cosa che non sopporto della sanità italiana, oltre a tutte le indagini radiografiche superflue prescritte, sono l'ostico ciddì che ti danno. lenti nel partire nei lentissimi catorci windows mediamente in dotazione nelle strutture sanitarie, hanno al loro interno poi spesso programmi non intuitivi, diversi per regione. quando dal dentista mi hanno dato una tac cervicale in chiavetta usb con i file dcm sfusi mi sono arrangiato a trovarmi un programma su linux per leggerle.

There is already a draft policy to create a category of "transgender domestic terrorism” which could potentially classify all trans people as domestic extremists and terrorists.
