Yeah, I've also been thinking about that. Like why wait until now? Meanwhile, having been involved in American unions (not sure how different European ones would be), I know that strikes take a long time to organize because striking can impose a very steep cost to workers. It takes a lot of one-on-one conversations to build the social networks and collective power. And many people have radicalized in the past two years and radicalization takes some time. I'm really appalled how many of my colleagues don't seem to have radicalized very much. I myself shed quite a lot of liberal indoctrination since Oct 7 despite having identified as an anarchist since 2020.
Yeah, they'd better get ready to strike. Even if they fail this time, next time they may be able to call a strike faster. For example, UC grad student workers passed the strike authorization vote for Palestine in spring 2024 so quickly because the memory of the 2022 strike was still fresh, though a court ruled that the strike for Palestine is illegal and I heard reports of union leadership watering down the demands.

I'm absolutely not bothered about phone calls just data and I'm considering a Fairphone 5 as most things apart from audio seem to work already. I do have a OnePlus 6T too but haven't used it for a year or two.

una cosa che non sopporto della sanità italiana, oltre a tutte le indagini radiografiche superflue prescritte, sono l'ostico ciddì che ti danno. lenti nel partire nei lentissimi catorci windows mediamente in dotazione nelle strutture sanitarie, hanno al loro interno poi spesso programmi non intuitivi, diversi per regione. quando dal dentista mi hanno dato una tac cervicale in chiavetta usb con i file dcm sfusi mi sono arrangiato a trovarmi un programma su linux per leggerle.
