Been using it now for a month or 4 & I'm quite happy with it. Not as much features as Obsidian, but that's not an issue for me. There's also plugins for extra features.
I use webdav to sync between the mobile & desktop app. Oh it's also #Opensource so you can take a peek at the code & contribute.
I don't use either and don't plan to, happy with nextcloud notes, but out of curiosity (and being completely ignorant about both tools you mention): why the one over the other? Why would one be on the fence about obsidian?

They probably are just blocking all the largest social media sites people use. M.s being the largest instance gets targeted.
