"Jetzt oder nie" dachte Karolin und erhob sich. Seit dem frühen Morgen hatte sie vor der Kirche gesessen, in Gedanken immer wieder die Worte durchgegangen, die sie sprechen würde.
Unzählige Male war sie aufgestanden und jedes Mal voller Zweifel umgekehrt:
Sollte sie tatsächlich dem Priester die Abgründe ihrer Seele anvertrauen, ihre Taten offenbaren, vielleicht ihre Seele retten oder doch besser die Vergangenheit ruhen lassen?
