I have been flirting with the idea of setting up a #selfhosted #Mastodon server since I first read about #ActivityPub, but I was put off by the lack of community that you have running your own.
I joined mastodon.ie and had a whale of a time, and once I had built up a set of accounts I followed and even interacted with from time to time, I figured it was time to set sail on my own.
So far so good, imported all of my following lists from the two main servers I used. My timeline is bangin!

I now have four browsers on my Mac. Partially because I want to cmd-tab between brain spaces.
I can have lots of tab sets within a single browser, but then I cannot cmd-tab between one headspace to another. My fingers reflexively use this to switch between apps. so now I have four browsers.
- Chrome is there for only the things Google runs anyway and already tracking the fk out of me.
- Firefox was my default but they keep trying to shove AI trash down my throat and there's a PhD in the offering if you can figure out why they want to destroy their user base so quickly.
- Until last yearI had avoided Safari like the plague but then I needed another headspace for a project and it was right there.
- Zen Browser is my new experiment.

Fab idea! Again! Years ago I gave up the social norm of shaving, plucking, chemically burning, and/or hot waxing my body hair. If I can’t handle it w a trimmer or tweezer - fuck it. Rarely get ugly ingrown hairs at all now and far less time primping.
And fuckit to saying "oh, I'm fine" when people ask how I am. Nobody is fine right now but we all hide it thinking we must be crazy because everyone else seems fine.
