If I see a granny and a baby on a footbridge over a motorway, and throw both into the path of a car, I'm glad to hear it's the car driver being jailed and not evil me.
(Of course I wouldn't do that. On the other hand the temptation to drop a heavy stone into the path, oh never mind, I wouldn't do that either)
Fact check: if the human driver was not drunk and did not flee the scene, they wouldn't even get their license suspended.
