Microsoft confirms AI, cloud services to Israeli Defense Ministry amid Gaza war scrutiny – Middle East Monitor
In a statement published Thursday, the company acknowledged public and internal concerns about whether Microsoft Azure and AI products had been used “to target civilians or cause harm” in Gaza.
The statement follows months of pressure from Microsoft employees and rights groups, demanding transparency over its relationship with the Israeli military.
The company said it does not have visibility into how customers use Microsoft products on private servers or devices, and that cloud operations for IMOD are supported “through contracts with cloud providers other than Microsoft.”

NASA documentary where a NASA engineer and NASA photographer comment on a very high quality slow motion film of a space shuttle launch, taken in close-up from many different angles. They provide technical insights on each aspect of the launch, including how the shuttle itself works and how it was filmed.The cameras were run at high speed in order to have slow motion detailed views of everything happening in the launch. This was mainly for engineering purposes to check whether the shuttle was working correctly, but as a side-effect it produced spectacular high quality imagery that forms the basis of this documentary.
The specific shuttle is Discovery, the mission is STS-124 (more info at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/STS-124).

L'11 febbraio, anniversario dei Patti Lateranensi, fu per lungo tempo una festività. Nei primi anni Sessanta in uno di quei giorni di vacanza dalla scuola, il parroco di Nervia, dopo aver celebrato la Messa, condusse lungo tutti i tornanti che portano sino a Colle Melosa sulla sua 600, stipati all'inverosimile, certi suoi chierichetti, ai quali si era aggiunto per l'occasione il fratello maggiore di uno di loro. Del resto, quello era il periodo dove proprio nella parte iniziale della provinciale di Val Nervia, almeno sino a Dolceacqua, si vedeva talora transitare un motocarro Ape qui già citato con il cassone affollato di ragazzini e di ragazzotti posizionati per lo più in piedi.
Tornando ai primi virgulti menzionati occorre aggiungere che, dopo una parca colazione offerta dal ristorante gestito dai nipoti del prete, fu per loro di un certo spasso scivolare sulla scarsa neve presente utilizzando a mo' di slitte certi schienali di sedie impagliate ormai in disuso.
Quel prelato non era nuovo ad improvvisate di quel tipo, anche se per la maggior parte si concludevano al Don Bosco di Vallecrosia. C'era anche, aperto un po' a tutti, un salone, dietro la chiesa, con un televisore che funzionava a singhiozzo, ma che fece conoscere a chi non aveva ancora simile apparecchio a casa cartoni animati come Pow Wow e telefim come Ivanhoe, un tavolo da ping pong ma colmo di libri alla rinfusa, alcuni sfuggiti all'immancabile censura di quell'ambiente, che ai piani alti avevano messo all'indice fumetti poi diventati famosi come Tex Willer, ed altro ancora: forse quello spazio sociale creò qualche problema, perché ad un dato momento non fu più utilizzabile. Il parroco probabilmente sapeva anche che quei monelli dei suoi assistenti assaggiavano di nascosto di tanto in tanto il vino della Messa, trovandolo semplicemente delizioso, ma lasciava correre: una pratica di sicuro diffusa in tanti luoghi.
Non tutti gli studenti del Liceo Ginnasio di Ventimiglia sapevano allora che l'insegnante di religione, alquanto ingessato nella dottrina, ma aperto sul sociale propugnando nelle classi il discorso di Mani Tese, era stato e, di sicuro era ancora, una figura molto apprezzata dai boy scout della città.
Venne poi il momento, per Ventimiglia e zona, di boy scout, per così dire, laici, i Pionieri, associazione molto prossima al Partito comunista, che li ospitava nella sua sede in centro.
La loro attività somigliava nei modi a quella dei primi. Tra le loro gite, fece una certa impressione quella che, discretamente affollata, li portò in una domenica di inizio dei Mondiali di calcio del 1974 a La Roquette-sur-Siagne, dove, organizzato dal vicesindaco, poterono fare un bel pranzetto in un refettorio scolastico. Altre escursioni, più limitate, venivano fatte su di un pullmino di seconda o terza mano, che era già stato a disposizione di un complesso musicale.
Ed ai Pionieri di Ventimiglia Guido Seborga, forse ispirato da un personaggio già apparso su queste colonne, donò una grande tela improntata al suo tipico stile di pittura ideografica.
Nei primi anni Novanta i boy scout di base al Don Bosco di Vallecrosia furono molto tormentati dalle zanzare nel loro campeggio ubicato in collina in uno spicchio della provincia di Alessandria più vicino ad Asti. Una madre, anche accompagnatrice della comitiva, provvedeva non solo a lenire con pomate tanti pruriti, ma anche a consolare alcuni piccini nostalgici della famiglia.
In quel periodo due genitori di boy scout di Genova si frequentarono nel portare i figli alle loro specifiche iniziative e trovarono il modo di appurare un comune conoscente, chi come collega, chi come compagno di sventura in una rocambolesca - tutta da raccontare! - staffetta 4 x 100 ai campionati studenteschi imperiesi di atletica leggera del 1964.
