Southworth calls this “narrative warfare,” and while it is true that Republican leaders have seeded a particular false narrative for decades now, this technique is also known as “political technology” or “virtual politics.” This system, pioneered in Russia under Russian president Vladimir Putin, is designed to get people to vote an authoritarian into office by creating a fake world of outrage. For those who do not buy the lies, there is another tool: flooding the zone so that people stop being able to figure out what is real and tune out.

@PepikHipik Je zajímavé, jak si autor myslí, že František byl nějaký progresivista, a nevím, proč uvažuje, že nyní nedojde k posunu ke svěcení žen a zlepšení postojů vůči LGBT lidem. František byl v tomto ohledu spíše nečitelný, než že by to někam posouval. Posouvali to ti, kteří naskakovali na jeho mediální výroky (a já byl mezi nimi). Ano, byl vydán jeden dokument Dikasteria pro nauku víry z roku 2023 trapně přešlapující kolem povolení žehnání lgbt párům, ale taky je tam jedno responsum Kongregace pro nauku víry z roku 2021, že to církev dělat nemůže, Je tam dokument z roku 2019 ostře se vymezující proti genderovým teoriím... V roce 2021 přidal František do kanonického práva nový zločin stižený exkomunikací "pokus o vysvěcení ženy na kněze".
Co se týče odporu k "genderové ideologii" a ke "klerikalizaci žen", jsou si oba papežové rovni. Leon není faktický krok zpátky, je to jen klauskovsky řečeno nevítězství a nepokrok. A je to studený naučený právnický a klerikální úsměv právníka Leona namísto hřejivé a autentické lidské opravdovosti Františka, ale oba jsou to v jádru zcela konzervativní pánové.
Hltal jsem Františka od první chvíle kvůli jeho buona sera a kvůli označení papežství za římský episkopát, obojí v pozdravu po zvolení. Nečekal jsem od něho nic menšího než zrušení papežství a všeho. Nedočkal jsem se skoro ničeho, kromě etablování termínu "klerikalismus" jako označení patologie církevních struktur, za což jsem vděčný, protože před Františkem to bylo chápáno jako nadávka agnostiků a ateistů. Tady u Leona nečekám nic a taky se zřejmě ničeho nedočkám. Rozdíl je jen kosmetický.
Ale jedna z mně blízkých osob je uklidněná, protože Leno si vzal ke zdravici na balkon u sv. Petra vyšívanou rochetu a štolu, a je spokojená, že je svět zase v pořádku a že Leon bude lepší než "ten chlápek" před ním, který se neuměl ani obléct. Pro církev je Leon požehnáním. Jen já tam prostě nepatřím.

We just tested on Vivaldi, we see the paywall, but the article is open to all if we click on "reader view" (browser button). The paywall doesn't appear on Brave either, so it's free to read.

And yeah, the amounts of money involved are intense — a lot of it clearly goes into marketing and building polished walls.
I get why they do it.
But the fake open source / in-between / open core model still feels off — like with n8n, mattermost, NocoDB, Budibase... And the most disappointing Directus — after so many contributions from the community, they eventually just stopped being open source (after raising money too
