Advocates are urging Senate Republicans to reject a proposal to cut billions from American healthcare to extend tax breaks that primarily benefit the wealthy and corporations.
The proposal would make historic cuts to Medicaid, the public health insurance program for low-income and disabled people that covers 71 million Americans, and is the Senate version of the “big beautiful bill” act, which contains most of Donald Trump’s legislative agenda.
“With the text released earlier this week, somehow the Senate made the House’s ‘big, bad budget bill’ worse in many ways,” said Anthony Wright, the executive director of Families USA, a consumer healthcare advocacy group, in a press call.

I’m not convinced Donkey Kong Bananza is a real DK game. It feels more like a Mario Odyssey spinoff dressed in DK branding. The core vibe — tight platforming, environmental rhythm, and that grounded jungle energy that defined the Rare-era games on SNES, N64, and even Tropical Freeze — is gone.
This new title seems detached from what made DK distinct in the first place. If I wanted an Odyssey-style experience, I’d play Odyssey. Unless the final game shows it gets DK’s legacy, I’ll just skip it.

This story is a window into the difference between Europe and America. A Microsoft employee was laid off in Denmark but due to employee protection laws, they have 6-months on the payroll and 3 months severance.
So this employee keeps going to work since they’re getting paid even though they’re officially unemployed.
Contrast this to America where people were cut off immediately after a 1-on-1 with their manager where they learned they’d been laid off without severance.
