They already cough up - The 10% of income taxpayers with the largest incomes contribute over 60% of income tax receipts.
However - Borrowing for the UK £131 billion deficit is equivalent to around £1,920 p.a.. per man women and child. Probably 4k per tax payer of dead money. Happy to help BUT, you might get a little bitter when you are funding £9Bn of F-35B Lightning II etc.
Save up to fund useless toys - borrow (if you must) to fund vital services and investing in future prosperity
