A “code of conduct” or “rules” plugin to Mattermost would be dope, and could probably be put to good use by several communities.
In my mind, it would:
1. Add a “report” function to messages, which would alert mods in a private channel
2. Raise the visibility of server rules/Code of Conduct, similar to the rules onboarding in Discord
3. Maybe introduce a mod queue where reported messages (passing a threshold of reports?) are redacted until handled by a mod?
These are all pretty table stakes features for a community platform imho—it’s actually surprising to me that neither Mattermost nor Zulip have anything like this ootb or as an existing plugin.
Discourse has great moderation tools, but we’ve seen there’s a lot of value in offering real-time communication for a community versus just async. I guess this comes from Mattermost and Zulip (and Rocket.Chat, and others) focusing on being a “workplace” chat tool like Slack over a “community” tool?

Ich war heute in #Bonn auf der MS-Wissenschaft, die aktuelle kostenlose Ausstellung zum Thema "Zukunftsenergie" besuchen.
Natürlich ist die Gestaltung eher für Kinder und Jugendliche gedacht, aber auch Menschen, die sich generell für #Friedensenergien interessieren, gibt es viele neue, spannende Information.
Ich hatte z.B. noch nie von der Idee der Kugelspeicher gehört, mit denen recht einfach Strom unter Wasser gespeichert werden kann.
Das alles ist wirklich technologieoffen und technisch realisierbar, und eben nicht mehr fossil.
Definitiv ein Besuch wert!
