most recordings of grey currawong calls are for subspecies that are not found in western australia, and those other subspecies sound completely different to our “leaden crow-shrikes”. thesetwo are the only recordings i’ve found for our subspecies, S. v. plumbea, and only the former was what i heard.

For instance, potential renters may struggle to understand, and owners to explain, the basis for screening decisions made by algorithms. Facial recognition systems also might misidentify individuals from certain demographic groups, and property owners might use surveillance information without renter consent, according to advocacy groups GAO interviewed.
The four federal agencies took several actions to address these risks. To combat alleged misleading and discriminatory advertising on rental platforms, agencies pursued legal action and obtained settlements requiring changes to advertising practices and improved compliance with the Fair Housing Act. They also took enforcement actions against tenant screening companies for using inaccurate or outdated data.
However, all 10 public housing agencies stated public housing agencies would benefit from additional direction on use of facial recognition technology. The Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) current guidance to these agencies is high-level and does not provide specific direction on key operational issues, such as managing privacy risks or sharing data with law enforcement. More detailed written direction could provide public housing agencies additional clarity on the use of facial recognition technology and better address tenant privacy concerns.

Next year marks ten years since the referendum that led to Brexit... while many warn that re-opening those debates will merely give the Brexiters more ammunition to stoke up their Far Right campaigns around other issues, there is a certain logic given that after ten years we are such more aware of the costs & benefits (so-called) of leaving, that a second referendum would allow a better judging of the best options now available?
I'm not sure I would, given everything that's happened since. We've hardly shown ourselves to be a stable and trustworthy country in line with broader European ideals.
If I were the EU, I'd stick up signs around the country like the MOD did with Gruinard Island.
@TimWardCam @chiffchaff can I suggest that rejoining requires first of all a few years of behaving like adults (which Labour are more or less doing), a few years of gradual rapprochement eg SPS alignment, Erasmus (which Labour are mostly dragging their feet on), and few years of serious discussion about how to do it. It's going to take a long time, but we should be taking the first confident steps now.

Personally, I hope the reset happens as soon as possible. But I've read that, for now, there's no legal basis for this procedure and that specific, limited agreements are being worked on. In any case, I believe the legal formalization isn't impossible to draft and sign, and that Mr. Orban isn't enough to stop this potential popular will.
