I think it's our biggest release since 0.2.0 and we thank @nlnet and @NGIZero for making this possible.
As spoilered, the most important changes are Support for multiple authentication backends (username/password, ldap, fediauth) and an overhaul of the geographic concept behind flohmarkt.

you don't need to waste any thoughts about selecting an instance perimeter anymore when setting up a #flohmarkt instance. it's now a constant value of 1603 kilometers. this encompasses most big countries and about half of the turf of the really big countries.
if you still need to force it, you can use the search-URL-feature to directly access an item on your instance. but you probably shouldn't 😀
once i wrote a nice little library called #libgtkflow, a flow graph library for #gtk . i have never seen a project done with the library as cool as this: rasterflow.io/ it's a tool for #image #manipulation with #gegl. and i just love how the website documents all the available filters!
@platymew yes 😀 it's even cooler than that: it's a admin-definable name for the LDAP-backend. so if you have a community called "the fedinerds" and you use that community's ldap you can have it say "sign in with fedinerds" instead of confusing users with "sign in with LDAP". in my case the name for the backend is "le LDPA" 😁
Neat! My experience that services usually implement LDAP sync only up to user creation and updating, never deleting anything. Refreshing to see proper housekeeping!

today i found out that our caching-problem i #flohmarkt has multiple intertwining causes and i finally un-fuddled everything necessary to know. reasons are: 1.) we need to make sure that the reverseproxies in our deployments do not cache 2.) a bug in starlette that can get the cache-validation confused if files change but their modified-timestamps stay the same.
After an update of muc.deals, I realized that involved assets (basically all changed .css, .js and .svg files) are still cached in the browser resulting in a broken site.
Current workaround for the user is to hard reload the page (STRG+F5).

@aumetra allerdings sind die Images mit NixOS immer recht groß. Ich sollte das nochmal mit den Tipps zur Verkleinerung, die hier gestern oder heute gepostet wurden, probieren...
das ist auch so mein go-to tooling geworden für docker images. Nix flakes sind recht einfach zu schreiben und docker images sind dann nur so ca 4 zeilen entfernt.
und die images sind auch so klein. ich sag auch oft "nix ist n besserer docker image builder als docker build"
