It's also that this statement from his "Head of Security" isn't at all interested in finding out *who* hit him with a car! A crime of negligence at minimum. No mention of even looking for the person who did this, but we do get a story that makes him a hero? Huh?
I suspect there is something very messy here that this statement is trying to "get out in front of."
I'm surprised the account doesn't have him also saving an adorable stray dog or assisting in a very difficult birth of a young calf who was breech inside its mother.
I thought the same thing. That was info not needed to say he was injured in a rear-end collision. It's as useless as, "After stopping for a Big Mac sandwich and milk shake, he proceeded on his way when..." unless it is to garner sympathy, restore honor, and help with recovery donations...
I mean it might be that simple. But I also find it very odd that they aren't concerned about who hit him with a car... something that ought to be found out in any case like this.

OK so it’s not just me? When I read this story I was immediately suspicious that something material was being withheld. It just doesn’t make any sense.
It is very strange at minimum. And at this moment, well who can say. Perhaps it is just a strange series of events that really happened. But, why is there a "domestic violence hero" story about the guy who is a notorious lecher? Why don't we know who hit him with a car and why isn't his head of *security* interested in that?

@c_th1 If you turn off EXIF metadata stripping, it will include a timestamp in the metadata. It also has one in the file name. Several people have asked for a watermark feature and we can consider it, but we don't really want to have a feature writing on top of the image and therefore also needing to remake the whole JPEG. We'd then need to make the initial capture 100% quality and only use the user configured quality for the recreated JPEG. We could just offer finer grained metadata stripping.

Questo film era probabilmente scritto nella mia vecchia watchlist essendo uno dei film a cui è ispirato a Stranger Things.
Ora che l'ho guardato è stata la prima volta dopo molti anni che guardavo un film horror senza luce accesa ed tramite uno schermo piuttosto che guardarlo sullo smartphone. Ma l'importante è che cazzo, mi sono sentito proprio come da giovane quando guardavo Monkey Shines, che mi aveva terrorizzato abbastanza.
L'ultima scena del mostro invisibile durante gli ultimi minuti del film mi ha dato proprio un impatto che non provavo da anni da un film horror. E la cosa incredibile è che l'inizio del film i toni sembravano usciti da un film per famiglie, ma poi ecco quando il mostro rovina tutto.
Però era peggio La cosa, quello lo devo RIGUARDARE che è stato uno dei miei horror preferiti assieme a Shining!

Rayvon Fouché’s research in history of technology reveals that Black inventors were largely excluded from “shop” cultures and “school” cultures where white Americans honed their technical skills through informal apprenticeship or formal education, then finding routes into scientific and industrial cultures where credentialed invention occurred. Taking the a longer view of Black technological ingenuity, this isn’t just an oversight: it’s an erasure that chimes with historical erasures. And it's not just 19th century history: both Mastodon and Bluesky exist in the forms that they do largely in reaction to Twitter; they’ve been built with the goal of keeping some good things about Twitter & skipping past bad things by doing them better.

I actually hopped into one such argument recently to point out that blacksky was in fact a thing. Ran into it when researching if there were any ATProto implementations other than bluesky. It seemed like it might be about the only one.

yes it does. atproto works quite different from activitypub, but the summary is as follows. Every decentralised network needs 3 parts: data storage application logic (stuff like counting the number of likes on a post) a client (the website you log in to)
fediverse combines this into a single server: mastodon.social stores my data, it counts all the likes on all the posts i see, and when i visit mastodon.social i see my timeline
atproto splits this into 3 separate parts data hosting is on a PDS (personal data server), and you can any PDS you want to use the bluesky app a separate piece of software called an appview indexes the entire network, and counts the likes on all posts the client is separate again, this is just a framework that gets its data from the appview
bluesky the company provides all 3 parts, but you can create your own individual part for each layer and still use the same network
TBH I'm not sure about this, but I'm guessing all 3 component play a role in counting Likes. With Likes indexed by the Relay, stored in the PDS of the account that made the post, and displayed by the AppView.

the relay is just an optimisation piece that prevents an overload of consumers on PDSes, that has gotten wayyyy to much attention compared to how important it is

Unless @cwebber is wrong (and she hasn't been corrected yet), the Relay sits between the PDS and the AppView. It's not possible to overstate the power that gives the operators of the only Relay in the current network.

they first created their own data storage for blacksky users. people who are on the blacksky PDS can use any client or app as the same, so they also could use the bluesky app and exactly nothing changed
blacksky then released their own client at blacksky.community/. literally any atproto account (including nonblacksky users) can use this. when you use this client you see the exact same network as if you used bsky.app

OK, so are they running their own Relay? I know they aspire to, but I had a good rummage around the web and couldn't find clear confirmation this has happened.
Until there is more than one Relay, the ATmosphere is only as decentralised as early Titter, back when API access was freely available for third-party apps. In others words, it's not.
