The organizers use various channels for communication and publicity. But with the exception of #email, not one of them open, free, federated, or latin american. It's all via US #bigTech #socialNetworks (plus one from CN), no #fediverse, no #Mastodon, no #Jabber/#XMPP, no IRC, no Matrix. And even the email goes through mailgun, a US company 🤷
that's because #nerdearla hasn't been neither #opensource nor a #nerd event for almost a decade now .. those two words are just a facade to allure the general public to a scouting event sponsored by the biggest #Banks and #BigTech corpo in search of new talents or promising younglings ..
As sad as it is: there are no #floss #opensource events in Argentina at all.

To be fair, Nerdearla began as an event for the local sysadmin community. It did not start as a free software event, nor has it attempted to become one over time. It has added an open source theme, organizing talks on this topic in its agenda, but it is not a free software event.
I also can't say for sure whether or not it is promoted as such.
As @gnemmi says, I think the only current event exclusively dedicated to free software in Argentina is FLISoL. At least, I think it's the most popular one.
