On the one hand, it is a pain that my proxmox box is broken, although quite how broken, I don't yet know.
On the other hand, oh well, it is just a good test of business continuity planning. I can restore from backups onto other hardware, and keep going.
And if the backups cannot be restored (already tested, so it should not be an issue), then this has unearthed a more important problem.
I've restored two of the three services from backups.
Neat! My approach to backups worked.
And I've improved my documentation, to make things even easier for Future Neil.
And I've switched one service from docker to podman.
So, success!
One more to go, probably tomorrow.
Once I've got everything restored and running, I can poke the proxmox box from a position of curiosity rather than definitely needing to fix it.
