Another handy feature for @kdenlive would be scaling keys with speed changes. So if I transform a clip at 100% speed, then slow it down to 50% the keys should scale to the full length of the shot.
Perhaps there is a way to scale the keys , I know I can shift select all keys & drag them... but not sure if I can scale them out to the new clip length.
And why can I never set a key of the first frame of a clip? 🤔

I think the results of this poll are important. I suspected that #YouTube was the primary way that people on the fediverse watch video and that seems to be true.
Can someone conduct a similar poll over on #bluesky I would guess YouTube and "other corporate" will both grow and the last two options will shrink.

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said the European Union is “not taken completely seriously” by world leaders because of its “suicidal migration policy” and “nonsense climate goals,” after a phone call on Monday with German Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

, Fico told Merz that he would send an open letter on Tuesday to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and circulate it to all EU prime ministers and heads of state, in which he would express concerns relayed to him following a meeting with U.S. President Trump at the weekend and offer solutions.
“I have proposed several solutions to the Federal Chancellor, and I hope that he will visit Slovakia soon, as he promised. We have something to talk about,” Fico said. He added that several hundred German companies operate in Slovakia and that the Slovak economy is particularly dependent on German economic development because of the high concentration of car production.
Fico said he and Merz discussed the current “serious international situation,” including the escalating transatlantic tensions over the future of Greenland, and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. He told the German chancellor about his conversation over the weekend with U.S. President Donald Trump and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida.
“The U.S. president is clearly pursuing the nation-state interests of the U.S. If the EU had acted this way, we would be in a completely different place than we are now,” Fico said, again arguing that the European Union is not taken seriously on the world stage.

The Slovak government described the Fico-Trump meeting as informal and a sign of respect and trust. The talks covered the war in Ukraine, the European Union, and bilateral relations, and were attended by U.S. and Slovak foreign ministers Marco Rubio and Juraj Blanár.
On Ukraine, Fico said he reiterated his long-held positions to the American president. “All my positions are well-known, and I repeat them in the same wording at every meeting,” he said, declaring “Slovakia’s peaceful position and the opinion that diplomacy and mutual listening must take precedence over military solutions.”
According to Fico, he and Trump shared the view of the European Union as “an institution in deep crisis” in relation to its competitiveness as well as its energy and migration policies. They also discussed an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in nuclear energy, ceremonially signed in Washington before the Florida meeting. “Both countries are fully aware that solving serious energy challenges is not possible through wind turbines or photovoltaics, but that the basis for the future is the rapid development of nuclear energy,” Fico said.

Fico also said he presented Trump with a Slovak postage stamp depicting a U.S. Marine Corps soldier of Slovak origin, Michal Strank, noting that a photograph of Strank raising the American flag on Iwo Jima in February 1945 later became the model for a major military monument at Arlington National Cemetery.
“The trip to the USA was our next success, as was the case with visits to Russia, China, and many other countries. We make many decisions prematurely… Luck favors the brave, sovereign, and proud. The trip to the USA, from which we are now returning, was a sovereign, self-confident, and useful representation of our homeland,” the prime minister concluded.

Google has reinstated support for the JPEG XL image format in the open source Chromium code base, reversing a decision it made in 2022 to remove it.
The update allows Chromium to recognize, decode, and render JPEG XL images directly, without extensions or external components.
This change applies at the browser engine level, meaning it will affect future versions of Google Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers when they are released.

Indeed jpegxl appears to be much better than AVIF. By the way two small questions related to images on Lemmy this probably isn't the right place but I just remembered it
1) In the browser client you make it possible to paste images into the thumbnail field when creating a post? I saw this functionality added to the Jerboa client recently, it's pretty useful for when the scraper doesn't automatically find a thumbnail in a link
2) On lemmy.ml there's a filesize limit to uploading images in the post field. I often have to manually downsize them to fit the size limit. Would it be possible to automatically encode the images client side when uploading? Maybe make them even smaller when uploading them into the thumbnail field.

Roll 19690014: UC Riverside (1969)
I was thrilled to find these photos of The Sons of Champlin, one of the major San Francisco bands (and still in existence). These lovely people let me hang around with them and take an entire roll of pictures as they were beginning to set up for an evening concert in the cafeteria. I don't know now which were musicians and which were crew. The photos are shown in pretty much the order in which I took them.

Inside the US military’s massive buildup ahead of possible Iran strike
The US is steadily amassing additional military forces in the region, according to open-source intelligence analysts, media outlets covering the US military and American newspapers reporting on Wednesday. According to The Wall Street Journal, President Trump has continued to press his advisers for "decisive" military options against Iran, even after backing away from a strike last week. Senior US officials told the paper that the president repeatedly uses the word "decisive" when describing the impact he wants any American action against Iran to have.
At the center of the buildup is the movement of the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln and its strike group, which includes destroyers, F-35 jets and additional combat aircraft. According to maritime tracking websites, the carrier passed through the Malacca Strait on Tuesday and is heading west toward the Persian Gulf, several days away. After leaving the heavily trafficked shipping lane, the vessel has been sailing without activating its AIS transponder, which enables open-source tracking.
Last week, there were also reports of European military aircraft moving into the region, including British Typhoon jets.
