They can be found in public parks around the country and are usually maintained by the town councils. They’re free for anyone to use.
These exist because usually using your own BBQ is strictly forbidden to avoid the risk of the grass / vegetation catching fire and well.. you know people losing their homes and worse - It doesn't detract from the the fact that they are a good thing.
They encourage people to visit the area and enjoy time at the relevant park - so good for the local community.
They tend to be well designed for two reasons - it reduces maintance and causes people to respect them as community assets.

Nova Launcher torna in vita. Quattro mesi fa il progetto era stato abbandonato, lasciando nel limbo uno dei launcher Android più apprezzati di sempre. Ora l’azienda svedese Instabridge lo ha acquisito e promette di mantenerlo attivo e aggiornato.
Per chi non lo conoscesse, un launcher è l’app che gestisce la schermata home, il drawer delle applicazioni e buona parte dell’interfaccia Android. Nova si è fatto conoscere negli anni per il livello di personalizzazione che offre, permettendo di modificare praticamente ogni aspetto del sistema senza bisogno di root o competenze tecniche particolari.
Cosa cambia con la nuova proprietà
Come riporta l’annuncio ufficiale, Instabridge non ha intenzione di stravolgere l’app. L’obiettivo dichiarato è mantenerla stabile, compatibile con le ultime versioni di Android e concentrarsi sulla correzione dei bug. Prima di implementare modifiche importanti, il team raccoglierà feedback dalla community su Reddit, Play Store e altri canali.
Il rovescio della medaglia è l’introduzione della pubblicità nella versione gratuita. Chi vorrà eliminarla dovrà sottoscrivere un abbonamento, mentre chi ha già acquistato Nova Prime manterrà tutte le funzionalità sbloccate senza costi aggiuntivi.
Insomma, Nova è salvo ma al prezzo di vedere pubblicità nella schermata principale del telefono. Decisamente non proprio l’ideale per chi sceglie un launcher alternativo proprio per avere maggior controllo sulla propria esperienza Android. Se l’idea della pubblicità non vi convince, esistono diverse alternative open source che vale la pena esplorare: niente tracciamento, niente abbonamenti, solo personalizzazione.
