Angesichts der Größe der MPG und der Anzahl der Institute und anderen angeschlossenen Einrichtungen, wäre ein eigener Server vielleicht eine Überlegung wert (ich denke es gibt innerhalb der gesamten MPG genug IT-affines Personal um so etwas zu stemmen).

Um die eigene Arbeit immer wieder zu hinterfragen und neu zu justieren.

@schuh Ich würde im Zweifelsfall immer nur von Interaktionen als Maßstab ausgehen. Alles andere ist – insbesondere auf den algorithmisch gesteuerten Netzwerken – Augenwischerei. Ist ein bisschen schwierig sich umzugewöhnen, wenn einem 15 Jahre lang was anderes erzählt wurde, aber das war auch die letzten 15 Jahre lang leider schon gelogen und einfach ein Verkaufsargument. Ja, das ist so ein Ding. Das Fediverse hat sich, auch wegen einer teilweise sehr eigenen Nutzer:innenschaft, die in allem, das nicht dogmatisch "anti*" ist, ganz, ganz, schlimme Zustände sehen, da etwas in den eigenen massenverträglichen Fuß geschossen.
Selbst wenn es Tools gibt, die solche Performances messen können, sind nicht wenige Instanzen so gegen diese, dass sie die blocken. Damit ist es etwas schwerer, gute Zahlen zu bekommen.
Mein Vorschlag: KPI umdenken. Statt "Reichweite" auf Interaktionsreaktion setzen. Bedeutet: schmeißt Follower/Like/Reichweite aus dem Fenster und messt Klicks auf geteilte Medien sowie Kommentare/Reshare-Verhalten.
Das bedeutet aber auch, dass Ihr mir Kommentaren/Reshares nicht kleinlich sein dürft (auch wenn der Morbus Böhmermann, das hirnlose Bespielen des eigenen Accounts durch ein Sozialmedienteam, auch erfolgreich sein kann). Seht das Fediverse (Mastodon ist mittlerweile nicht einmal mehr der Großteil des Ganzen, Escher sei dank) als erweiterten Arm der #wisskom durch aktive Kommunikation, und die KPI werden erreicht.
Da ich jetzt mehrfach angepingt wurde, hier meine Tipps: Für die Analyse des Engagements (Anzahl geteilte und favorisierte Beiträge plus Anzahl der Kommentare) empfehle ich @analytodon und @mastometrics. Ersteres sehr spartanisch, aber voller Zahlen (und auch per Mail einmal pro Woche), zweiteres viel hübscher und hilfreicher in Bezug auf Follower (wer ist besonders aktiv).
Rule of thump: viele Boosts sind gut. Ansonsten Rückmeldungen von Usern, also aktive Kommunikation. Zu viel Nachdenken über Perfornance schadet nur. Einfach, dat löppt woll!
