New export licensing figures show that the UK Labour Party government approved licenses for £127.6 million worth of military equipment to Israel in single issue licenses between October to December 2024.
This is a massive increase, with the figure in this three-month period totalling more than 2020-2023 combined.
The licenses were granted after the government’s announcement of a temporary arms suspension on 2 September 2024.

The Best Camera+Lens is the one in your hand
Now this ought to have been taken with my 100mm Macro Lens, but all I had was Canon R5 Mk II + RF200mm-800mm lens, with a minimum focal distance of 0.8m at 200mm.
But I get the terrible feeling it was better done with the telephoto lens !?!
Anyway, what might be a female "Beautiful Demoiselle" (but could be some other sort of Damselfly), nowhere near water.

Israel has assassinated the police chief of Beit Hanoun, Zaher Olayyan, in an airstrike on Friday morning.
The attack targeted his home in the Qleibo area in northern Gaza. His nephew was also killed in the bombing.
The General Directorate of Police in Gaza condemned the assassination. It described the attack as a war crime and part of Israel’s ongoing genocide campaign against Palestinians.

Belgian parliament scraps its nuclear phaseout plan.
Belgium's parliament on Thursday voted to drop the country's planned nuclear phaseout, adopted over two decades ago.
The motion was passed with 102 votes in favour, eight against and 31 abstentions.
