Im making a dashboard of stuff I use daily, using Grav CMS. This includes a customised set of feeds (with custom Twigfeeds plugin), access to a file repo, a few other tools (like Photopea, TLdraw) and a note making app. Grav is the framework but the markdown notes are created from front end, not backend admin. They can be edited using SimpleMDE plugin, and Add Page with Form plugin makes new notes. Ill make an archive so that any note can be edited from front end.
@peguam yes there are good options for online courses. Paul Hibbitts of Hibbitts Design has several Grav builds for courses available to download from github. I can find the links if you need. He's very approachable if you need advice etc. hibbittsdesign.org/

some people seem to have ideologically self-inoculated against "it's lawless despite being traceable"... probably because they believe certain falsehoods about policing (ie that cops "prevent and solve crimes" and deal equally with the wealthy and the poor)
Yep. They're trying to lock out the untraceable versions. We need to lock in defenses now. Spin up private blockchains linked together with privacy coins and smart contracts. There are cross chain protocols to make this possible.
Otherwise they're going to lock us down. We won't be able to do business without being tracked. You already can't even onboard without having to go through an id process--and they're all AI automated, don't work, and have no person attached (dao).
Yes, that whole initial «Bitcoin is anonymous» fallacy got shot down with the Silk Road market: as soon as you convert to/from other currencies under your name, that crypto address suddenly is overtly yours and the blockchain tells a tale…
And the fascinating thing is that the traceability is historic. I'm sure you've read Tracers in the Dark - the watershed moment for me was when this traceability led to arrests of people that had committed crimes decades ago.
I vividly remember a conversation with someone on Twitter who INSISTED that crypto isn’t traceable. I asked him how he can even do any transactions without a broker and without disclosing who he is since that’s now a requirement and how 50% or Users already attached their ID to their wallet

Today in Labor History July 10, 1894: The Pullman Rail Car strike was put down by 14,000 federal and state troops. Over the course of the strike, soldiers killed 70 American Railway Union (ARU) members. Eugene Debs and many others were imprisoned during the strike for violating injunctions. Debs founded the ARU in 1893. The strike began, in May, as a wildcat strike, when George Pullman laid off employees and slashed wages, while maintaining the same high rents for his company housing in the town of Pullman, as well as the excessive rates he charged for gas and water. During the strike, Debs called for a massive boycott against all trains that carried Pullman cars. While many adjacent unions opposed the boycott, including the conservative American Federation of Labor, the boycott nonetheless affected virtually all train transport west of Detroit. Debs also called for a General Strike, which Samuel Gompers and the AFL blocked. At its height, over 200,000 railway workers walked off the job, halting dozens of lines, and workers set fire to buildings, boxcars and coal cars, and derailed locomotives. Clarence Darrow successfully defended Debs in court against conspiracy charges, arguing that it was the railways who met in secret and conspired against their opponents. However, they lost in their Supreme Court trial for violating a federal injunction.
By the 1950s, the town of Pullman had been incorporated into the city of Chicago. Debs became a socialist after the strike, running for president of the U.S. five times on the Socialist Party ticket, twice from prison. In 1905, he cofounded the radical IWW, along with Lucy Parsons, Mother Jones, Big Bill Haywood and Irish revolutionary James Connolly. In 1894, President Cleveland designated Labor Day a federal holiday, in order to detract from the more radical May 1st, which honored the Haymarket martyrs and the struggle for the 8-hour day. Legislation for the holiday was pushed through Congress six days after the Pullman strike ended, with the enthusiastic support of Gompers and the AFL.

the past ~month or so i've suddenly started seeing a bunch of people in crypto and in the financial regulatory/enforcement world who are unironically excited about crypto because of the financial surveillance it could empower, and that scares the shit out of me
the other day i was listening to a conversation about how "algorithms" could detect criminal activity occurring on public ledgers in real time to automatically alert law enforcement, or be programmed into the money itself to stop transactions.
