So I ran into a problem while building Pixelfed Stories.
How can we serve the Story Carousel with the following requirements:
- Fast API response times
- Cache invalidation for deleting your own Story
- Instant view tracking (gray out Stories you've seen)
- Near instant Story fan-out
The current state involved expensive db queries that were cached for 5 minutes, eww.
Now we're leveraging Redis to solve all these challenges 😎

In this article, we will discuss the types of operating systems commonly used from Nokia to Samsung and other types of phones.
Small feature phones, also known as “dumb phones,” have been around for decades and are still popular today, particularly in developing nations where affordability and basic functionality are top priorities. Compared to modern smartphones, these phones are primarily intended for calling and messaging and have limited capabilities.
Small feature phones typically run a variety of operating systems, each with its own set of capabilities and features. Among the most widely used operating systems for feature phones are:
KaiOS
KaiOS is a mobile operating system based on Linux that is designed for feature phones and smart feature phones. It supports 4G/LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, and other modern mobile features, and can run some basic smartphone-like apps such as WhatsApp, Google Assistant, and YouTube. YunOS

Mocor OS
