This NOAA SWPC ENLIL model predicts an arrival at earth at 2100Z 1Sep2025. That's 9am on 2Sep2025 for New Zealand which make the chances of seeing aurora here pretty low. Observers at lower longitudes may have more luck.
However, the duration of the flare may mean that any aurora on earth last longer than usual.

Agree totally. Sadly the people in charge of decision making in the West are largely beholden to those who prioritise military readiness and corporate profits over environmental protection.
At some point this arrangement will have to be broken, but I'm at a loss to understand how we get from here to there.
