One of my big problems with "anti-doomerism" is the peddling of hope. Hope for what? What inspires hope in you? Hope requires action. Hope is not a god that will magically right every wrong in the world if you simply believe in it hard enough. If your hope is nothing but a vague faith in human nature or the belief that you, personally, will survive this, then that hope is nothing but an empty justification for going along with fascism.
We live in times that warrant despair. Everything is crushingly, overwhelmingly awful. We are watching the rise of fascism, and we are not prepared to stop it. In fact, I would go so far as to say that despair is *good*. We need people to understand the hideousness of capitalism and how dangerous the present moment is. I would argue that it is only in the pits of despair that most people will be willing to stop clinging to the comfort of capitalism and hope for something better.
But until we are at that point, and until we have something tangible that we can look to and know that we will build - and more importantly, know is *worth* building - our hope is less than worthless. It is an excuse to do nothing. Figure out your end goals and mobilize to achieve them, and actual, revolutionary hope will follow.

You could not pay me to give a fuck what someone spends their SNAP/EBT benefits on. There is a giant list of things that my tax dollars go toward that piss me off, but that's certainly not one of them.
Funding genocide and building concentration camps in our country are certainly at the top of my list. But someone in the throes of poverty buying themselves some Reese's cups and a Dr Pepper so they have something to look forward to in an otherwise cold and uncaring world somehow just doesn't bother me.
Maybe it's that "empathy" thing we were all warned about.
