If Einstein was never born, somebody or some combination of somebodys would have still discovered the theory of relativity, eventually.
Whereas if Beethoven was never born, nobody in history would have ever recreated the Ninth Symphony, Fรผr Elise, the Pathetique, or the Moonlight Sonata in exactly the same way he did. And the human race would be forever poorer for it.
That is why education in the arts is so important and valuable to the human race. Science exists independent of us. And if nobody discovers it today, somebody will tomorrow, or the next day, or the day after that. But music, dance, art, sculpture... these are created BY us. They are an extension of and a direct expression of our humanity.
So if you aren't the next Einstein or Hawking, don't worry too much about it. Somebody out there is, or will be. But there is and will ever be, only one YOU. And you owe the world the art that only you can make.

If Einstein hadn't been born we'd have something like another-Einstein that could do his job.
What a weird theory...
But what if another-Einstein hadn't been born either? No problem, we'd have another-another-Einstein ready to take another-Einstein job.
And what if another-another-Einstein hadn't been born? We could count on another-another-another-Einstein..
And we could go on like that and conclude that humankind would be able to produce an infinite number of Einstein's copies.
And why not infinite Heisenberg's? And why not infinite Bohr's? And why not infinite Schroedinger's?
According to this theory humankind would be able to produce in every epoch an infinite number of top scientists.
I wonder why it took 2.5 million years to a race that's able to produce scientists on an assembly line to leave caves and build skyscrapers. Wouldn't a couple of weeks be enough? ๐

Scientists and engineers work on solving external problems. They work together too. Each unique problem will continue to be tackled by other people until it is solved. The problem is independent from each individual.
Artists work on expressing what's inside their souls. It can only be done individually. If they don't acquire the means to do it, it could never be created in that unique way by anyone else, ever again. The art is completely dependent on each individual.
Got it now?
