Italian speakers, I need your help!

There's the line in Diodato's song "Solo":

e non mi fermerà certo il pianto di una strega

I wonder if "il pianto di una strega" is an idiom, or if it means exactly what it says: the crying of a witch. (Whatever that might mean though.)

Grazie mille!!

Grazie! At least that is clear now. The meaning however is still unclear to me. But that's alright. It's poetry, things aren't always clear. 😅 At least the rest of the text is.

@Elena. (she/ her)

I've just read the lyrics and it doesn't make sense to me either.

He probably needed a word to rhyme with "frega" and "strega" was all that he thought of 😁

Haha! Yeah, probably. But with a bit of interpretation and fantasy it can make sense. Art is flexible like that, I guess. 😅

Grazie per rispondere!
I'm still not really sure what to make of it, but that's ok. At least I know now that it's not an idiom. 🙂
