You don't have a "different opinion." You have a factual inaccuracy that you've emotionally bonded with and now you think correcting it is a hate crime.
in reply to JA Westenberg

You can tell the difference because when it comes to opinions, people don't typically fly off the handle.

An opinion is whether mustard is a valid condiment for a hot-dog -- and of what type. It's whether Rush has put out a good album since Grace Under Pressure. It's whether pineapple belongs on pizza.

An opinion does not cover whether life-saving treatment should be provided to infants, or if a certain classification of human beings should be denied basic rights. That's just hate and fear masquerading as a 'social issue'.

@oblomov @theogrin I think Italians don't give a shit, they're putting all the leftovers from the other day on their pizza. It's the Americans who het riledup about it, because Canadians invented it and called it havaiian pizza. šŸ˜‚
And btw it can be quite tasty you know.

No no rest assured that we DO care about that particular thing, way more than for more serious stuff 8-D

Wars have been fought over pineapple on pizza, cappuccino after 12:00 pm, panettone vs. pandoro, whether it is OK to break spaghetti, bacon in carbonara, and so on and so forth.

True Italians Ā®ļø will get all riled up about their food. Some wield The Law, others are fucking heathens.

french fries on pizza are worse than pineapple, unless we are talking about the overly sweet canned syrupy pineapple they generally sell in Italian supermarkets.
Breaking spaghetti, however, should cause any rights to access a kitchen to be revoked permanently.

meh french fries on pizza isn't that big of a crime, it's just an overload of carbohydrates.

gateway "drug" to ketchup on pizza.

More "seriously": Carbs aren't even the problem here (I've had small pizzas as toppings for a large pizza before); I just find that fries have very little to add in terms of taste to a pizza. Potatoes in other guises can be fine.

@oblomov @bovaz @useravoiding @floreana @tizianomattei My partner is Italian and we are based in Calabria half the time. I am a vegetarian, so I stick to ortolano or buffala, but when I explain a Hawaiian pizza as prosciutto e melone on focaccia, some people get why it would be good.

But I’m endlessly ridiculed for enjoying a pizzetta alongside a granita and cappuccino on a summer afternoon. Guilty as charged for having those American tastes.

Considering the sheer number of seafood variants in Italian pizza, maybe it's the ham that offends. Mussel and pineapple instead?
