Campaign Suspended: Announcement from the Drew Bingaman campaign
February 25
The following was shared to the Pirate National Committee board and other members by the Drew Bingaman campaign.
STATEMENT FROM DREW BINGAMAN
To the people of District 108,
After careful consideration, I am suspending my campaign for Pennsylvania State House District 108.
Despite our best efforts, we were unable to collect the required number of petition signatures by the March 10 deadline. A combination of weather challenges and volunteer availability made it clear that achieving ballot access was not viable in this timeframe.
This was not an easy decision. I entered this race because I believe deeply in the principles of transparency, individual liberty, and accountable government. I still believe that the people of District 108—and all Pennsylvanians—deserve a representative who will fight for their constitutional rights, their privacy, and their freedom to live their lives without unnecessary government interference.
While I won’t be on the ballot this year, the issues we championed remain urgent: police accountability, cannabis legalization, digital privacy rights, open government, and economic freedom for small businesses and individuals. These aren’t partisan talking points—they’re principles worth fighting for.
To everyone who supported this campaign, volunteered their time, offered encouragement, or simply believed that change was possible: thank you. Your faith meant everything, and I hope you’ll continue to demand better from those who seek to represent you.
Power belongs to the people. Never forget that.
With gratitude and respect,
Drew Bingaman
We want to thank Drew for putting his campaign out there and putting in the effort to run for office. It is no easy feat, and to even try to run and to speak on the issues with your neighbors, that is an achievement in and of itself. No decision to run for office comes lightly, and no decision to end the campaign comes any easier.
We know this isn’t the end, so for now we simply as “thank you” and wait until the next chapter. Power does indeed belong to the people. Thank you for running a campaign based on people power.
