Ho una richiesta rivolta alle donne, oppure chiunque conosca la cultura americana e musicale degli anni Cinquanta. Siccome la mia preparazione musicale è prossima allo zero, ma vorrei sfiorare l'argomento, mi servirebbe un confronto per evitare di scrivere magari fesserie in un articolo che sto preparando.

È uscita in questi giorni la serie TV di Fallout, tratta dall'omonima saga videoludica. Mentre giocavo mi aveva particolarmente colpito una canzone, It's a Man di Betty Hutton. Mi piaceva principalmente per la musicalità, ma mentre facevo saltare la testa ai predoni non riscivo a concentrarmi troppo sul testo e non ho mai approfondito. Ieri, invece, mentre guardavo l'episodio, è comparsa di nuovo in un momento importante della storia e ho colto meglio le parole.

A me sembra che per essere degli anni Cinquanta lanci messaggi positivi, mettendo in guardia su certi comportamenti che avevano gli uomini e che sono tristemente attuali ancora oggi. Sintetizzo: "Ragazze, ragazze! Attenzione, se vedete un animale su due gambe che scorrazza in giro, se fuma sigari e bazzica il bar, se racconta menzogne e indossa cravatte sgargianti, è un uomo! Se è testardo e irascibile, se fischia quando passi, se sgasa con l'auto, se diventa violento, è un uomo!" La canzone però è inframezzata da cose come: "Se fa volare la luna, più di una semplice luce nel cielo, se ti bacia e scopri che ti piace, tienitelo stretto." Per poi chiosare di matrimonio.

Ecco, con la cultura dell'epoca, lancia davvero messaggi positivi? Ovvero: "C'è in giro gente orrenda, stai attenta, ma se è amore vero e corriposto lasciati andare", oppure secondo voi è da intendere come "Eh, che ci possiamo fare, gli uomini sono così, però mettiamo da parte queste bestialità perché ci dobbiamo sistemare?" In questo secondo caso sarebbe proprio triste.
