During the last weeks, I've been busy migrating Raccoon for Mastodon / Friendica dependency injection to Koin with the new compiler plugin and annotation set. This shift allows to combine the best of both worlds: the flexibility of a service locator, the safety of a full-fledged framework. The decision was not easy, after having sworn to myself I would never switch back to Koin after an issue with one beta version of their annotation library prevented the app distribution on F-Droid due to build being not reproducible any more. Koin has grown and matured over time, showing openness to community feedback, as opposed to other projects in which maintainers seem to ignore both the direction of the industry, user requests and volunteer applications.
