ICYMI: Updates from the 3/22 Meeting

ICYMI

Arizona – the Arizona Pirate Party recently had another in-person meeting. AZPP Captain Blase Henry will be speaking at the upcoming No Kings rally in Tucson. We wish Blase the best of luck in his upcoming speech! State captains getting the opportunity to speak at No Kings rallies is a privilege we have been bestowed before and is an honor we don’t take lightly. Hey Blase, just remind them: no safe harbor for the enemies of liberty.

Massachusetts – the Massachusetts Pirate Party held their elections for their new board, and the results are in:

  • Chair: James O’Keefe
  • Secretary: Steve Revilak
  • Treasurer: Elijah McGee
  • Arbitrator: James O’Keefe
  • Representative to the US Pirate Party: Elijah McGee

Congratulations to Jamie and the rest of the Massachusetts crew! The MAPP still has openings for PR/Media Director, Activism Director, Swarmwise Director, Web/Info Director, the Council of Arbitrators and alternate Representative to the US Pirate Party. If you would like to volunteer, email them at info@masspirates.org.

PennsylvaniaDrew Bingaman needs volunteers! If you missed our post about it, then read it there. In short: we are seeking volunteers to assist in signature collection. Come help out Drew and assist in his rebel alliance!

Pirate National Committee – The meeting schedule for the Pirate National Committee has been altered due to the upcoming holidays. The following is our schedule for our upcoming meetings:

  • March 29th – Livestreamed to YouTube
  • April 5th – No Meeting
  • April 12th – No Meeting
  • April 19th – Livestreamed to YouTube

Following the April 19th meeting, PNC meetings will return to the regular schedule, fluctuating between livestreamed and public meetings. In lieu of public meetings on the cancelled Sundays, we will host a public forum on Pan-American Day (April 14th) and another day to be voted on during the March 29th meeting or announced at the discretion of the board.

Pirate National Conference – The full, official name will be voted on during next week’s meeting, but it is official; the 2026 Pirate National Conference will be “Hoist the Colours and Spill the Tea!” The “full name” of the conference will feature callbacks to previous conferences and will be a little more irreverent than the current name suggests. That said, the shorthand will not change and the theme for the conference in the shorthand is the aforementioned “Hoist the Colours and Spill the Tea!”

Platform – During the meeting, we have updated the language of the “Opening up Government” plank of our platform to include: “As it currently stands, America’s electoral system is broken. Two political parties have entrenched themselves, and they prevent other viewpoints from being heard. To address this, the Pirate Party proposes that legislatures should be elected via proportional representation, candidates should have less barriers to ballot access, and voter registration should be automatic.”

Look back and catch the meeting here!
