It ain't over 'til it's over. The end of my concerns turned out to not be the end at all. Frustrated by Koin Compiler Plugin's build warnings, iOS false positives, and runtime crashes, in this hot summer I decided to migrate Raccoon (with its 50+ modules) to Metro, Zac Sweers' Dagger-inspired DI framework. In this article, I'll walk through my six-step migration strategy: setting up build logic, defining multiplatform root graphs, porting core infrastrucure, migrating the domain layers, adapting ViewModels & UI, cleaning up legacy code. I'll also detail the top four technical blockers encountered, from multi-module dependency visibilities issues and ViewModel multibindings to Swift exports on the native iOS side. Was it worth it? Yes it was, it made me rekindle that "little spark": the feeling every developer gets when they finish a piece of work and are satisfied with the outcome.
