The developers of the Notepad++ text editor have asked users to help report a new website impersonating its brand and ranking high in search results

Shouldn't it be on Google to fix this? Oh right, there is no way to contact them to report issues.

It only took ten tries to prove I wasn't a robot. And the page didn't resize for a mobile screen.

Is this one?

It only has an option for the Windows version. I'm on a ChromeBook.

I used to think computing was cool.
I still have a soft spot for Notepad++.

Reported.

But By Satan's Balls I don't miss the scene.

They added a disclaimer saying that is "an unofficial fan website", but I do not believe it. What's the point of making an impersonating website if you're a fan...

I genuinely don’t understand this. This post is full of very charged language, including the specific claim:

It is riddled with malicious advertisements on every page. These advertisements aim to deceive unsuspecting Notepad++ users into clicking on them, generating profits for the site owners.

But I went to the site and I really don’t see anything wrong with it. The download buttons even redirect to this Notepad++ site; they’re not distributing any software themselves. They say this site is “a threat to the community”… but it is the community. It sounds more like a threat to their control over maintenance of the software which just doesn’t seem like a big deal to me.
