Definitely do report them. I've already banned a bunch of these and will continue to do so. We are reliant on reports, however, since we don't have eyes everywhere. 😀

this post has been removed for including a phishing link. i've requested for it to be removed more than 3h ago, but it seems that federation from lemmy.world to poliverso.org is broken, which is why that didn't federate to you. you're welcome to post this again without the actual phishing link.

That, and nobody legitimate ever asks you to do anything with accounts/passwords/money/banks and ends the message with "warm regards." Really? That's right up there with "calvary greetings."

I'd guess all of the braindeads who'd fall for that are not in the fediverse anyway.

Unfortunately, this isn't the case: we tend to think these spam attempts are intended for stupid or naive people. However, someone who's just discovered the fediverse and has begun to learn all the strange things that still amaze me (even though I've been here for years) might not be surprised by such an oddity. Finally, just as someone recovering from chemotherapy can risk their life with a simple flu, even an intelligent and well-prepared person can experience moments of emotional fragility or fatigue that lower their defenses.
These messages are much more dangerous than they seem!

Don't underestimate the danger behind these messages: I'll reply to you with the same message I wrote here.

please remove the phishing link from this post immediately. you can defuse it e.g. by putting it in a code snippet and replacing the dots with [.], e.g. netprocesse[.]com.
