Hello, i have problem because i can't make it work for like a week. I tried a lot of different configurations and every time i try refind with encryption when refind starts there is no menu entry for encryptred disk, but with no encryption everything works fine. I looked a lot on arch wiki, some install scripts on github and i do what they do and it doesn't work. Maybe anyone could help?

Performing procedural tasks using a statistical model of our language will never be reliable. There’s a reason why we use logical and proscriptive syntax when we want deterministic outcomes.
I expect what we will see are tools where the human manages high level implementation, and the agents are used to implement specific functionality that can be easily tested and verified. I can see something along the lines of a scene graph where you focus on the flow of the code, and farm off details of implementation of each step to a tool. As the article notes, these tools can already get over 90% degree accuracy in these scenarios.
I agree that this could be helpful for finally getting to that natural language programming paradigm that people have been hoping for. But there’s going to have to be something capable of logically implementing the low level code and that has to be more than just a statistical model of how people write code, as trained on a big collection of random repositories. (I’m open to being proved wrong about that!)
The 90% accuracy could just arise from the fact that the tests are against trivial or commonly solved tasks, so that the exact solutions to them exist in the training set. Anything novel will exist outside the training set and outside of the model.
I think it's going to be humans that implement actually interesting code while LLMs handle common and tedious stuff. That's the approach I've been using at work. When I need to crap out a UI based on some JSON payload, or make an HTTP endpoint, I let the LLM do it. When I have some actual business logic that's domain specific, I write that myself. This allows me to focus on writing code that's actually interesting, while the LLM does all the tedious work.
That's where the rate of success becomes important. LLMs mostly produce decent code when applied to common cases like the examples I gave above. My experience is that vast majority of the time it's as good as what you'd write, occasionally needing minor tweaks. However, there's nothing forcing you to use the code they produce either. If the LLM stumbles, you can always fall back to writing the code by hand which leaves you no worse off than you would've been otherwise. It's all about learning how the tool works and when to use it.
You're absolutely saving time, checking that the code works is far less time consuming than writing it. Especially for stuff like UIs or service endpoints. I literally work with this stuff on daily basis, and I would never go back. There's also another aspect to it which is that I personally find it makes my workflow more enjoyable. It lets me focus on things I actually want to work on, while automating a lot of boilerplate that I had to write by hand previously. Even if it wasn't saving me much time, there's a quality of life improvement here.
Yes, I've seen this as well. First of all, 16 devs is a tiny sample, a far bigger study would be needed to get any meaningful results here. Second, it really depends on how experienced people are at using these tools. It took me a while to identify patterns that actually work repeatably and develop intuition for cases where the model is most likely to produce good results.
A few weeks ago, our teams in Gaza started sending alarming photos of emaciated babies. Esatto, l’hashtag può essere creato da chiunque — e questo, di per sé, non è un male. Il problema è che può facilmente degenerare o essere usato in modo improprio da un momento all’altro.
Al contrario, un gruppo è moderato, e quindi (almeno in teoria) offre maggiore affidabilità e sicurezza, evitando derive indesiderate o contenuti fuori tema.

Capitalism is not the only mode of production in existence. We can collectivize production and run it in a planned manner. We can't do that all at once, but in socialism we can gradually wrest capital from the capitalists and collectively run and plan the economy.

Neither system is perfect. Pure capitalism can lead to inequality and under-provided public services, while pure socialism can stifle innovation and create inefficiency. The best-performing countries today typically combine elements of both.

Unfortunately, you don't understand what you're talking about. These Social Democracies (really capitalistic states with strong worker protections) still benefit from imperialism on the Global South.
The contradictions inherent to capitalism still exist within these states as well. There are proletarians and there are bourgeoisie. The cost of living within these states is rapidly increasing, and reactionary sentiment is booming because people from the (1)

I wanted to try moving towards web apps for any big tech platforms I've not stepped away from yet, but Instagram stories are not loading on Ironfox. Normal Firefox works fine so I feel like it's some default privacy setting that's blocking this, but I'm not sure how to fix this
I think US customs said it was because he admitted to using drugs in the past and had photos of a paraphernalia on his phone. He said they ignored that stuff and focused on the photo. So it comes down to whether you think one specific customs employee could potentially see something they don’t like and choose to refuse entry for another reason or that customs is being honest and open about the reason his entry was refused and that the people making the announcement fully understand the situation (including the thoughts of the person that examined the photos).
I feel like the latter is unlikely, but I don’t have enough evidence to say either way. I don’t think drug paraphernalia in a photo or admitting past drug use are good reasons to refuse entry either.
None of the documentation or statements by US officials are consistent, and appear to include a bit of lying. So people are leaning towards him being at least partially correct in his accusations.

I lived in china for 4 years and Winnie has Def never been outlawed. Chinese censorship is much more sophisticated than "hey, that's illegal." There's not a list of pictures or memes or phrases that if you're caught with you'll get a visit from the police. No no no. There are hundreds of thousands of people monitoring social media for the latest "subversive" trends. When a new trend develops that content is blacklisted and just not allowed to be spread. You'll send your friend a picture and it never shows up on their phone. There's no indication on your end that it didn't send or they didn't get it. You can have this content on your phone, the CCP doesn't care. They care about it spreading. And you'll never get in trouble for trying to spread it because the system doesn't allow it to spread.
Any decision about censorship is a compromise of some kind between open communication/access to information and the prevention of the spread of content that could be deemed harmful in some way or another.

AOC’s statement is absolute crap. The Iron Dome is not used for defending, it’s used to facilitate constant attacks. In an article for Jewish Currents titled “Iron Dome Is Not a Defensive System,” Dylan Saba explains:
“‘In theory, a weapon like Iron Dome could be used only defensively. But in practice it doesn’t work that way,’ analyst Nathan Thrall told Jewish Currents. ‘Iron Dome facilitates greater Israeli offensive measures, because it lowers the perceived cost to Israel of escalating or extending or initiating attacks.’ In other words, while the Iron Dome may prevent the deaths of Israeli non-combatants, it has made it easier for Israel to engage in deadly operations that take Palestinian lives.”

After dozens of MPs rebelled against a draconian welfare bill that would have devastated the lives of thousands of disabled people (the bill’s gutted version still entails significant cuts to welfare), Starmer responded by suspending four of them: Rachael Maskell, Brian Leishman, Chris Hinchcliff, and Neil Duncan-Jordan. He then took things a step further by re-suspending veteran Labour MP Diane Abbott.
Abbott had previously been suspended over trumped-up allegations of racism following comments made in an interview, allegations that are hard to reconcile with her decades-long record of fighting racism and discrimination in her constituency. She was eventually allowed to run on the Labour ticket just ahead of the 2024 general election, but has remained a vocal critic of the Starmer cabinet’s austerity agenda and its enthusiastic turn toward militarization. Reacting to her latest suspension, Abbott remarked that the Labour leadership obviously wants her out – as it did many other progressive members when 2024 election tickets were being drafted, one might add.

In our FOSS movement and the social impact movements that favor the fediverse we value a set of principles we think are essential to improve all the things that need fixing, in order to move to a better world.
Fediverse as no other other online space can be considered a "humane technology field lab". People care about the features of their app, and the impact it has on fedizens that use it. This focus on the human side, ethics, and externalities is highly laudible and much needed to become the norm everywhere. The only future of mankind is the one where we find equilibrium of our exploitation with what our planet can provide. Holistic sustainability.
But do we take all the externalities into account fairly? Or are we fooling ourselves that app-centric humane tech focus is enough. We aren't able to collaborate at scale in our grassroots environment, as Big Industry™ under hypercapitalism is able to do. Yet we do work in public and give all our innovation away, also to the bad actors. Is that responsible? Are we really creating "humane technology" then?
Are we able to control what we create, as we introduce it into society in real-time?
Will our work remains commons based, for the people by the people? Or won't we be able to avoid corporate capture of our tech followed by 'business as usual'? Maybe the way we work together now is the best we can muster. But who is pondering if that is the case, and looking into better ways to work ethical and responsible in large-scale grassroots commons that keep sustainable technology ecosystems afloat?

Space launches disrupt ozone layer, contribute to air pollution and global warming, waste a lot of resources, and produce tons upon tons of space debris.
We should be careful with this industry and technology, and use it when it makes sense. But hey, why not launch billionaires and their cars into space for leisure and launch hundreds of satellites under different brandings all promising the best Internet ever or whatnot?
Also, massive launches such as Starlink should be approved by international bodies, not national organizations. Cool, US has greenlit the launch, but now it's a global headache.
