We lost our first pumpkin to the critters–it would've been nice and big by now. We've got lots of small ones though, from marble to grapefruit sized. They're wrapped in chicken wire now. The plant just keeps chunking out the flowers, it's pretty amazing.
I suppose even without viable ripened pumpkins this autumn, the flower display has been really nice.
On the topic of flowers, we have several #rudbeckia in pots doing very well. The flowers look a bit like Mexican sunflowers and last a long time, so they make a great potted plant that keeps on giving all summer.
We noticed this unusual double-headed conjoined-twins of a flower in the mix. Have never seen that in other flowers before. Maybe it's common, but new to me!

@Lionesslady Hmm, I think this must be a bit different than "seeds sprouting inside fruit" because it's still a flower and hasn't progressed to the fruit stage yet. Plus both heads are at the same level of maturity - ie one hasn't formed seeds that sprouted, they're both at the same stage.
Interesting that you have a bed of them all doing the double headed thing! So it must be common for that varietal. A little genetic quirk I guess. A nice plant anyway.
