It's curious that ICE has better ways of detecting "illegal" workers than major corporations that presumably only hire people legally able to work here.
I suspect there's been a "don't ask, don't tell" policy with a lot of this, because US immigration policy has been so broken for so long. They probably have known of issues at many of these employers for a decade and only because of the politics today are they cracking down.
The article said most were grabbed for overstaying visas. I can picture the workers were brought in to do specialized work and could not renew their visas because of the broken immigration system. So now the work is shut down and every major corporation in the world is reconsidering making any investments here because of the uncertainty.
it doesn't even matter what the rest of the world thinks. Hyundai, SK Group, LG and Hanwa are huge companies and all have a stake in this plant. The SK president would take a call from any of these chaebol CEOs in a heartbeat. Any future SK investment in the US is going to need a nod of agreement from Hyundai, as no SK company will want Hyundai upset.
This issue should have been dealt with by a suggestion from a senior ICE official to a senior Hyundai executive at a meeting in South Korea that visas be regularised and that this would be checked on a date some months away.

Make one #origami model every day. It's a bit more relaxed than the other projects. I'll have something going on in real life that forces me to take it a bit easier this month.
Also, maybe I can use the time to finish up some other projects. Or play some games.
Either way, I'll get some neat home decorations out of it.
Everything lined up perfectly. Until one point where suddenly excess paper just appeared at the edges. Still looks nice, but it keeps trying to unfold itself
Those are some pretty thick layers of paper. It was getting hard to fold. Which, in hindsight, makes sense, since it couldn't jump if the folds just lay flat.
Strangely brief text instructions, but you can follow thanks to the video. I think this is also the one with the least guided folds. Step 10 "Petal Fold the top layer" felt very unguided.
Also, I think this design works a lot better with paper that has different colors of the front and back like in the instructions. Still looks nice, though.
It's difficult to make this balloon shape just by pulling without tearing the paper. Maybe it would be better to cut it open at the bottom (heresy 😛) and use a stick to push the folds outwards.
Visited some family, so we all made the same model together. The instructions on this one were surprisingly hard to follow, but together we figured it out 😀
