Muchos de nosotros hemos escuchado el termino de sesgo de confirmacion en alguna ocasion, sin embargo pocos saben que es, el sesgo de confirmacion es la tendencia a favorecer, buscar, interpretar y recordar la información que confirma las propias creencias o hipótesis, dando desproporcionadamente menos consideración a posibles alternativas.Las personas muestran esta tendencia cuando reúnen o recuerdan información de manera selectiva, o cuando la interpretan desde una sola postura. El efecto es más fuerte en publicaciones con contenido emocional y en creencias firmemente enraizadas. También tienden a interpretar que las pruebas ambiguas apoyan su postura existente. Se ha invocado la búsqueda sesgada, la interpretación y la memoria para explicar la polarización de las actitudes, la perseverancia de las creencias, el efecto de primacía irracional (cuando se tiene mayor confianza a las primeras experiencias tenidas con algún hecho, que a las más recientes) y la correlación ilusoria (cuando la gente falsamente percibe una asociación entre dos acontecimientos o situaciones).
es decir, el sesgo de confirmacion es cuando vemos, oimos, leemos y pensamos en un solo sentido, tratando a toda costa de hacer que la informacion que nos llega confirme nuestro pensar, creer y actuar, refutando o rechazando o incluso negando cualquier otra evidencia o informacion y a menudo agrediendo a quien la muestra o demuestra nuestro error de perspectiva, pensamiento o interpretacion.
este fenomeno es algo que mayor o menor medida siempre ha estado ligado a la humanidad, sin embargo, gracias al auge de nuevas tecnologias y redes sociales (sobre todo privativas como X, Facebook, Bluesky, etc) las personas entran cada vez mas y con mayor frecuencia en sesgos de confirmacion, esto lo podemos ver en la politica, la religion, los deportes, en temas de salud, teorias conspirativas y practicamente en cualqier ambito del saber humano.
el sesgo de confirmacion es un peligro inminente, ya que al ver todo solo desde una perspectiva y rechazando cualqier otra informacion o evidencia o postura o enfoque, se tiende a tener opiniones y tomar acciones unilaterales creyendo que se esta en lo correcto pues el individuo usa un filtro psicologico a fin de solo recibir informacion que coincida con su forma de pensar y creer, minimizando o negando o agrediendo cualqueir cosa que vaya en contra o cuestione sus convicciones, volviendo cada vez a la gente mas radical y polarizada.

I am 100% convinced just from my own experiences that tech companies are knowingly, purposely putting "AI" buttons and links near commonly-used buttons or links in user interfaces to encourage accidental clicking and increase their usage numbers. AI usage numbers are dismal, and surveys repeatedly show large majorities of people do not want these features.
