Un giorno il dottor Pretorius (Ernest Desiger) bussa alla porta del dottor Henry Frankenstein (Colin Clive) e gli propone di dar vita a una nuova razza di uomini artificiali donando alla creatura una sposa. Il dottor Frankenstein è allettato dalla proposta, ma si rifiuta di collaborare. La sua mostruosa creatura originale, però, rapisce sua moglie Elizabeth ed è costretto ad accettare la proposta del suo insegnante.
