This week I've been mainly reading, no. 244.
Richard Verdi's new Thames & Hudson World of Art volume on Velázquez (2023), is great on the art, presenting a chronological discussion of most of the painter's works, but much much weaker on the life & organisation of his studio. So, if you want to assess Velázquez oeuvre then this is the book for you, but if you like artists' biographies then give Verdi's well written but tightly focussed volume a miss.

I am seriously considering taking legal action against the Sharkey Development Team.
I know how often some troll on the internet threatens to "get a lawyer," and we all know how empty those claims usually are.
But I’m not just anyone. I gave $1,000 to support this project based on promises that were never fulfilled — only to be harassed by them. Now they’re violating my privacy and flooding my inbox with junk.
I have both the incentive and the motivation to move forward with this.

It is not the money I want. It is the principle. If I can prevent anyone else from going through this, it will have been worth it. Furthermore, some of these issues are criminal issues, not civil.
